Do the nurses and pharmacists receive specialized training to adhere to manufacturer and patient requirements, including accurate infusion rate calculations?
Yes. Our nurses and pharmacists undergo specialized training to ensure strict adherence to both manufacturer recommendations as well as patient-specific requirements. This training covers various important aspects, including correct infusion rate calculations.
Here are a few additional points concerning our training protocols:
- Manufacturer Guidelines: Our staff receives complete training in the precise protocols supplied by manufacturers. This ensures that each infusion is carried out in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for dosage, administration, and any other applicable concerns.
- Patient Requirements: Recognizing the uniqueness of each patient, our training focuses on knowledge and meeting individual patient requirements. This encompasses factors that include the patient’s clinical history, existing conditions, and contraindications with other medications.
- Infusion Rate Calculations: Accurate infusion rate calculations are vital to the safety of infusion therapy. Our nurses and pharmacists are trained to carry out precise calculations based on the prescribed dosage and the duration of the infusion. This helps prevent over- or under-administration of medications.
- Continued Education: In the dynamic field of healthcare, staying updated is vital. Our staff undergoes ongoing training to stay informed about the latest developments, advancements, and best practices in infusion therapy. This dedication to continuing education ensures that our team remains properly prepared to satisfy the evolving needs of patients.
- By prioritizing specialized training, our goal is to supply infusion therapy with the highest level of accuracy, safety, and patient satisfaction. Our team is devoted to retaining the highest standards in both manufacturer compliance and personalized patient care.
Are the facilities maintained in a clean and infection-free environment, with strict sanitation protocols in place?
Our facilities maintain a sterile and aseptic environment, adhering to the most stringent sanitation protocols to ensure cleanliness and infection control. Temperature control within the facility is rigorously monitored and maintained to meet clinical standards, preventing microbial growth and ensuring optimal conditions for patient safety. Per our Policies and Procedures, the infection control procedures are focused on patient infection control (including wearing protective gear, proper handling of infectious materials, proper hand washing, etc.) and environmental infection control (including maintaining a clean work environment, refrigerating food, disposing of garbage/recycling properly, correctly labeling equipment as clean or contaminated, etc.)
AmeriPharma® Infusion Center has infection control plans specific to the following infections:

Any exposure incident is evaluated to determine if the case meets OSHA’s Recordkeeping Requirements (29 CFR 1904). This determination and the recording activities are done by the designated staff in HR. Additionally, all percutaneous injuries from contaminated sharps are also recorded in a Sharps Injury Log. This log is reviewed as part of the annual program evaluation and maintained for at least five years following the end of the calendar year covered.
All staff members shall be informed of the need to follow infection control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of exposure to infectious agents. Appropriate education is provided during initial orientation and annually thereafter.
